Senator Bob Wieckowski lends support for elected Castro Valley MAC

Alameda County

Senator Bob Wieckowski, whose California Senate District includes Castro Valley, has offered his support for an elected Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council (MAC).

In a statement to Castro Valley Matters, Wieckowski said:

“I support an elected Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) in Castro Valley. The residents of this unincorporated community should have a greater ability to weigh in on the decisions affecting their future. I ask that the Alameda County Board of Supervisors take action to allow Castro Valley voters to elect their MAC representatives in the upcoming November 2016 election.”

Congressman Eric Swalwell and Castro Valley Unified School District Trustee Dot Theodore previously endorsed an elected MAC.

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors will consider a request by Castro Valley Matters that the Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council be converted from an appointed to an elected body at its Tuesday, February 2 meeting.

Chick-fil-A next to Burger Island? Where’s the beef?

When you consider how this location is a gateway to this community, how poorly conceived this intersection is, and the increasing traffic along 580, it is fair to question the wisdom of placing a new drive-thru restaurant here.
