Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education
District Office Board Room
4400 Alma Avenue
Castro Valley
Open session starts at 7:00 p.m.
In its closed session that starts at 5:30 p.m., the board will hold a conference with Superintendent Jim Negri and Assistant Superintendent Candi Clark “concerning the options on real property.” The agenda does not state which property will be discussed; however, at its December 11, 2014 meeting, the board authorized Negri and Clark to begin negotiations for property next to the Castro Valley Library that currently houses a mobile home community.
The board is also scheduled to discuss labor negotiations with the CVTA during closed session.
During the open session, the board will hold a public hearing on facilities fees:
The Board will consider implementation of development fees established by the District against residential construction and reconstruction at $3.36 per square foot and against new commercial or industrial construction at $0.54 a square foot.
In a November 2014 report included in the agenda packet, CVUSD’s student capacity is for 9,123 students. Projected enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year is 9,335 students. By 2018-2019, enrollment is projected to be 9,663 students.
The board will also consider a change in board policy that would effectively move public comment to the start board meeting open sessions.
Here is the agenda for the 1/14/2015 CVUSD meeting.
