Alameda County Board of Supervisors Transportation/Planning Committee Meeting

The agenda for Monday’s Transportation/Planning Committee Meeting includes the proposal for the annexation of the Canyonlands into the Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan).

In its memo to the the Committee, Community Development Agency “staff has concluded that annexation of the Canyonlands to CVSan would be the most beneficial for residents of the area.”

Sheriff Gregory Ahern convenes his Advisory Committee in San Lorenzo on Monday. Here is the agenda.

Included on the agenda is an item about Operation My Home Town, a program that provides “intensive pre- and post-incarceration case management.”  There will also be an update about the “COPP Shop” program.

At a press conference last week , the Sheriff’s Office announced “the acquisition of two small Unmanned Aircraft Systems,” which was reported in various Bay Areas news outlets. While drones are not on the agenda, the meeting does include a “Community Concerns” item, where community members can speak about issues not already on the agenda.

During the closed session that starts at 6:00 p.m., the Board will discuss the “Purchase or Lease of Real Property located at 2330 Pomar Vista, Castro Valley” from the San Lorenzo Unified School District. Camelot School currently operates at this property.

The new CVUSD Board of Education meets for the first time on Thursday.  Gary Howard and Dot Theodore will be sworn in to the Board, after the results of the November election. The agenda has not been posted yet.

Supervisors to hear proposal for incorporation fiscal analysis

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors Unincorporated Services Committee meets on Wednesday, April 27 at 6:00 pm to hear from the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) about a proposed fiscal analysis of the feasibility of incorporating Castro Valley and the other Alameda County unincorporated communities.
